The essential difference between variable frequency and fixed frequency air conditioners lies in the operating mode of the compressor, which directly determines the user experience and cost. The compressor of a fixed frequency air conditioner has only two states: start and stop. It stops when the room temperature reaches the set value, and then restarts when the temperature difference rises, resulting in temperature fluctuations of ± 1-2 ℃. In addition, the instantaneous current surge during startup is large, and the energy consumption during long-term operation is high. Variable frequency air conditioning can achieve smooth speed changes by adjusting the compressor frequency. When turned on, it operates at high frequency to quickly control temperature. After reaching the set temperature, it switches to low frequency maintenance. Temperature fluctuations can be controlled within ± 0.5 ℃, providing a more comfortable feeling.
From the perspective of applicable scenarios, fixed frequency air conditioners are suitable for spaces with limited budgets and short usage times, such as storage rooms or occasionally used study rooms. Their initial purchase price is usually 1300-1800 yuan lower than that of frequency conversion products of the same specifications. Variable frequency air conditioning is more suitable for long-term use scenarios such as bedrooms and living rooms, especially in low temperature environments in winter, where the heating start speed is faster and the defrosting process has less impact on room temperature. It should be noted that in extreme high temperature environments above 35 ℃, the energy efficiency of fixed frequency air conditioners is 8-12% higher than that of variable frequency products, and the cooling speed is also more advantageous. This provides an alternative choice for special scenarios such as Western style rooms.
